Camping with Soul on Farms “Get on my Land!!”

Bell Tent UK is looking for Farmers and Land Owners in and around the M25 who may be interested in diversifying into a bit of Camping with Soul on their land.

We are looking for beautiful places where we can offer Bell Tents for hire.

As we are just starting out on this we can offer different packages to the landowner ranging from Bell Tent UK supplying the Tents and doing a profit share through to the Land Owner buying the equipment off us and we take a commission for every rental we place.

This means the Land Owner could test the water using our tents and if they are happy with the idea then invest in their own tents and take the lion’s share of the profit.

Bell Tent UK will do the marketing from their website. (Number one on Google in UK)

The Concept is:

  • Bell Tent UK wants to offer Camping with Soul to Londoners within an hour Central London.
  • The idea is to build a network of beautiful spots on farms in and around the M25 and then spread out to the whole UK
  • The tents would be set up in advance (probably left up for a couple of months over the summer if the site is secure) with air mattresses, stoves and other old fashioned equipment so clients just arrive with provisions and the bedding off their own beds and get on with it.
  • Targeted at Romantic Couples and Families to attract the type of person who will respect the place, leave no trace and not be rowdy.
  • Camps would be set up so each tent is private, has it’s own space away from the other tents and doesn’t feel like normal campsite
  • Marketed as an environmentally sound short break with low carbon footprint to ABC1 Urbanites with a cost to match that. (min £100 per tent per weekend or £250 per week)

The farmer would need:

  • Somewhere beautiful to use as the camp. Not just the corner of some ploughed field, somewhere like on the edge of a wood, in a wood, next to a pond or somewhere else that’s a bit special. This can work well for the farmer as that’s the sort of land that may not be used for farming.
  • Somewhere reasonably close to park cars. A non boggy field in the summer should be fine but the idea is to keep the area immediately around the tents car free. (Also stops car stereos being used as entertainment)
  • A spot away from noise (Right next to the M25 is not the experience we are looking for.)
  • To supply drinkable water (and/or a running water supply)
  • To supply a loo (ideally build a long drop sawdust loo in a little hut but a porto loo clad in wooden fencing would do (even if not environmentally sound)
  • To be happy to prepare the tents between Rentals (Clean up the camp, and tent, supply loo roll, supply a bin and empty it, supply fuel for the fire/stove and other consumables)
  • Optional shower area. This could be anything from screening off a private spot so people could use there own (or supplied) solar showers all the way up to a heated shower block in a converted shed or outbuilding.
  • As an option offer farm produce for sale to campers as there’s something special for Urbanites to collect small churn of milk in the morning.
  • Be prepared to either just get on with it or approach the council if they are going to make proper business of it.

Are you or do you know a Land Owner who would be interested in this proposition?

If you had 5 tents dotted around your land you are looking at £100s of pounds a week for up to half of the year.
