Add some Camping with Soul style to the floor of your Bell Tent.

These handmade rugs are tough enough for camping whilst still being sort under foot. After extensive research and testing (we use these rugs in all of our Hotel Bell Tent rental tents), we have found these rugs to be the perfect balance between style, functionality and portability.

Ideal for those who don't want to carry around coir half moon matting, these 100% cotton rugs pack down small and look great.

Better still, they are machine washable on a wool wash so you can take them down to the launderette and clean them up after a muddy festival - unless you have a massive machine at home, of course...

Handmade by a family-run Indian company

• These rugs are hand-made on a loom using natural fibres and vegetable dyes
• From the raw yarn to the finished item, these rugs pass through at least 10 pairs of hands
• Training is provided for weavers and offers education for their families. On no condition are children employed
• The care and concern for their workers goes hand in hand with their commitment to their suppliers and the environment
• With your help this manufacturer can continue to support traditional craft cultures which benefits the world's ecology
• The rugs are made from recycled yarn

Offered in four colours (three natural and two patterned)

  1. Chocolate Brown
  2. Burgundy
  3. Dark Green
  4. Aztec - orange & red pattern
  5. Moroccan - beige & orange pattern

And three sizes to suit all needs at home, or in your Bell, Emperor, Touareg, Scout or Tipi Tent:

  • Small: 90x50cm
  • Medium: 120x180cm
  • Large: 180x245cm

We have found they work perfectly in conjunction with our entrance mats to create a really cosy feel to your tent. When planning which rugs you need for your Bell Tent we recommend you have a think about how many mattresses you will usually have and the fact that you don't need to fully carpet under them.

NEW - Patterned Moroccan Beige & Orange Rug

If you look at the picture of the inside of a 5m Bell Tent below you can see a good way to go is one large rug for the area from the door to the centre pole, and then compliment that with two smaller rugs either side of the bed. If you want to put your rugs under the pole position it before tightening the guy ropes it will make life easier.

A great help to catch mud and dust which can then can be shaken outside the tent. Working with smaller multiple items it is easier to transport everything in your car. Our rugs add soul, cosyness and warmth to your tent, plus they allow you to sit comfortably on the floor of your tent, not just on the mattress.

The Creative Process

The Indian manufacturer of our Jute Door Mats and Hand Loomed Rugs takes pride in being a family run business that makes quality hand-made durries (rugs). It all began with Grandma setting up a spinning wheel and a hand loom in the corner of the house, to spin the yarn to make durries which were used in the family home. This was passed down and by 1979 three grandsons had begun to weave durries for the retail industry in the towns and cities of India. Ten years later one of her grandsons further expanded the business by setting up a branch in the UK. His long experience in making durries enables him to produce the highest quality and best designed rugs.

  • All the rugs are hand-made on the loom using natural fibres, vegetable dyes and recycled yarn
  • From the raw yarn to the finished item, all our products pass through at least 10 pairs of hands
  • The work is done in the factory by craftsmen and women whose skills have been passed down from generation to generation. This includes training for weavers and education for their families and on no condition are children employed
  • The care and concern for their workers goes hand in hand with their commitment to their suppliers and the environment
  • With your help this manufacturer can continue to support traditional craft cultures which benefits the world's ecology
